Francesco Bruni
Born in Rome in 1961, after training at the Centro sperimentale di Cinematografia, he is a three time finalist for the Solinas Prize, which was awarded to him in 1994. As a scriptwriter he wrote all the films directed by Paolo Virzì (among which Ovosodo, Ferie d’Agosto, My name is Tanino, Caterina va in città, Tutta la vita davanti), as well as La seconda volta, La parola amore esiste, Preferisco il rumore del mare and La felicità non costa niente by Mimmo Calopresti, Nati stanchi and Il 7 e l’8 starring the comic actors Ficarra e Picone, Le parole di mio padre by Francesca Comencini, I Vicerè by Roberto Faenza and many more Italian films. He worked on various TV film productions directed by Franco Bernini and Riccardo Milani and since 1998 he has been working on the television adaptations of all Andrea Camilleri’s novels featuring Il commissario Montalbano as the main character.
Since 1996 he has been teaching Screenwriting at the National School of Cinema.
